Asian choral music theatre: a new classic across artistic disciplines
In 2019 the Music Unlimited Project presented its latest production, Music Unlimited 11: “Missing You, As Always” (念你如昔), combining music, theatre, and multimedia art to create a new classic of Taiwan’s performing arts. The internationally acclaimed Malaysian composer Dr. Kee Yong Chong served as music director, and the renowned composer Shen Ye, signed to the international music publisher Breitkopf & Härtel, composed music for the production. Hong-Chen Poo, artistic director and director of M.O.V.E. Theatre, was invited as stage director. Through exploration and dialogue with Yun-Hung Chen, artistic director of Taipei Chamber Singers, together they sparked boundless ideas for this fusion of drama and song.

In the form of contemporary choral music theatre,
weaving together voice, drama, visuals, and electronic music,
the production invites audiences to look back on their own lives,
to show care and understanding to their loved ones,
to resolve long-held regrets while there is still time,
and, embracing love and warmth, to open the springtime of life.
