Outstanding Performing Arts Group of the Cultural Affairs Department, New Taipei City Government.
A renowned choral education organization in Taiwan, the Taipei HuaShin Children’s Chorus was founded in 1988 as a joint initiative of HuaShin Construction and the Taipei County Cultural Affairs Bureau. From the outset it was guided by the ideals of corporate giving back to society, enriching local culture and promoting choral education for children. For many years it has been not only an Outstanding Performing Arts Group of the New Taipei City Cultural Affairs Department but also one of the few children’s choirs in Taiwan supported by government agencies. Now more than thirty years old, the chorus has a well-developed graded teaching system and nearly 300 members, ranging from preschool (kindergarten middle class) to junior high school, making it one of Taiwan’s best-known choral education organizations.
Throughout its more than thirty years, the Taipei HuaShin Children’s Chorus has given annual public concerts at the National Concert Hall, Zhongshan Hall, Taipei and the New Taipei City Arts Center, combining choral singing with many forms of performing arts to bring a fresh look to choral performance. The chorus has toured more than twenty countries across Europe, Asia, the Americas and Oceania, and has released three albums, one of which was nominated for Best Children’s Music Album at the Golden Melody Awards.
