1st Sing for Love Awards Ceremony and Premiere Concert of Winning Works

Sing for Love: writing down our hopes for love, singing our blessings for society

Alongside its many charitable activities, Rotary International has long supported the arts, believing that the arts not only enrich the spirit but also help foster a kind and caring society, complementing charitable work. In 2018, Taipei Chamber Singers joined Rotary International Districts 3521, 3481, and 3482 and Mr. 張順立 to launch the first Sing for Love Choral and Solo Song Composition Competition, in the hope of creating songs that will be sung for years to come and of spreading goodwill and care through music.

At the awards ceremony and premiere concert of the 1st Sing for Love Choral and Solo Song Composition Competition, Taipei Chamber Singers will premiere the winning works on the competition themes of “Inspiring Life,” “Love,” and “Saying No to Drugs.” The choirs of Rotary International Districts 3521, 3481, and 3482 will each perform popular songs on the three themes, with old favorites and new songs echoing one another to bring the audience closer. Through this concert, Taipei Chamber Singers puts into practice its commitment to both charity and the arts, carrying the power of love through song to every corner, warming hearts and inspiring positive lives. The awards concert also offers a platform for these voices to be heard and actively supports further performances, so that outstanding works by Taiwanese creators can live on.
