2nd Sing for Love Choral Composition Competition: Winning Works

A Vision Uniting Philanthropy and the Arts

Music is a force that goes straight to the heart, awakening love, warmth, and emotion from deep within. The Sing for Love Choral Composition Competition, initiated by entrepreneur 王光明, was made possible by the joint support of Rotary International District 3521, the Rotary Club of Taipei North, and the Rotary Club of Taipei Guandu, with strong backing from 馬長生, Governor of District 3521, and 張順立, former President of the Friends of the National Culture and Arts Foundation. Organized by the Taipei Chamber Singers, it seeks to discover creative talent, reward outstanding works, provide a platform for their premiere, and publish and promote them.

The 2nd Sing for Love Choral Composition Competition embedded the themes of “Taiwan’s Cultural Landscapes” and “Opening the Door of Opportunity” in new music, carrying goodness and care and lifting positive energy. From nearly a hundred entries, 14 winning works were selected across the mixed choir, equal-voice choir, children’s choir, and best lyrics categories. In addition to their premiere in concert, the winning works are published here, so that their positive energy can gather and carry on.
