Above the Light II—Taiwanese Psalms

Return to the beginning; listen to a feeling that never ceases

Peaceful singing: featuring fifteen classic hymns, including “Fairest Lord Jesus” (美妙主耶穌) and “My Jesus, I Love Thee” (救主我愛就祢).

Heavenly interweaving: pure voices with pipe organ and violin, in a moving dialogue of beautiful sound.

Founded twenty years ago, Taipei Chamber Singers is one of Taiwan’s top choirs, having won more prizes at European choral competitions than any other choir in Taiwan. In recent years, it launched the Music Unlimited Project to expand contemporary Eastern vocal music, earning repeated acclaim for its distinctive taste and precise interpretation. It has been invited to perform at the ISCM-ACL World Music Days, the IFCM World Symposium on Choral Music, the ACL Conference and Festival, and the POLYFOLLIA International Choral Festival, and is an international first choice for performing contemporary choral music.

Following the Golden Melody Award–nominated Taiwanese hymn album “Above the Light,” Taipei Chamber Singers once again returns to zero with “Above the Light II,” featuring fifteen important Taiwanese hymns including “Fairest Lord Jesus,” preserving more precious recordings from the roots of Taiwanese choral music. Organist Dr. Yun Fen Chen and violinist Geng Ming Cai join the choir in heavenly harmony, passing on, through pure and beautiful sound, the most heartfelt eternal psalms of this land.
