Echoes of Taiwan

This program commissioned Taiwanese composers of the senior, middle, and younger generations—Chiung Yu Chen, Kueiju Lin, 邱妍甯, Chung-Yuan Yu, 錢善華, and Xing-Kui Zeng—to write original works drawing on elements of Taiwan’s traditional and contemporary multicultural heritage. These choral works are interpreted by Taipei Chamber Singers, one of Taiwan’s leading performing arts ensembles, and the program also includes a signature work by the distinguished Taiwanese composer Hwang Long Pan. Expressing a deep affection for Taiwan through the language of music, the concert presents the face of contemporary Taiwanese music, with the hope of fostering professional artistic exchange and enriching Taiwan’s musical culture.
