About the Program

Sound ╳ Architecture: a journey through the many aesthetics of the Renaissance

Following “Savoring · Renaissance,” which paired music with coffee, the Taipei Chamber Singers’ new 2016 production “Wandering · Renaissance” returns to the church, birthplace of Renaissance sacred music. Starting from the pairing of “sacred vocal music” and “church architecture,” it invites Ming Song Xu, an architect licensed in Italy (Assistant Professor, Department of Architecture, Ming Chuan University), to serve as guide, while the Taipei Chamber Singers performs classic sacred music of the 15th and 16th centuries. Experience pure voices up close, explore the rich treasures of the Renaissance together, and glimpse the mystery and wonder of the sacred spaces of the church!
