2026, the Year One of Future Voices: The Taipei Chamber Singers’ Plans for the Year
“Music Unlimited ver.2.0: A Grand Concerto for the Future” opens new cross-border and cross-disciplinary connections: the stone-lions production at TIFA, “Shape|Light|Sound,” an expanding TCS Institute for Choral Arts, and the brand-new VoxUnity International Choral Festival.
The Taipei Chamber Singers has been hailed as Asia’s finest contemporary choir. We believe that musical creation is the crystallization of human wisdom, the source from which history is made, and the code for exploring the unknown. With several new contemporary music projects now under way, we hereby declare that 2026 will be the Taipei Chamber Singers’ “Year One of Future Voices.”
To meet this turning point, the choir launches “Music Unlimited ver.2.0: A Grand Concerto for the Future,” forging new cross-border and cross-disciplinary connections in new music, working closely with composers and performing ensembles around the world, and continuing to push the limits of sound.
Joining forces with composer Kueiju Lin and director Hung Chien-Han, the choir will create “Fourty-four Fourtunes of Formosa” (島嶼上沒有四十四隻石獅子), an immersive cross-disciplinary vocal theater work, at the 2026 Taiwan International Festival of Arts (TIFA); and with Resident Conductor Apo Hsu it will present the concert “Shape|Light|Sound,” featuring the most cutting-edge vocal repertoire from Europe, Asia and North America.
The TCS Institute for Choral Arts continues to expand: new ensembles and course series will be launched in turn, and TCS Funfest will be upgraded into a platform for international exchange—the VoxUnity International Choral Festival, which invites international choirs from Indonesia, Korea, Japan and elsewhere to listen to one another and resonate together in song.
With contemporary music at our core, we are building a new soundscape. In the new year, we invite you to expand the dimensions of your listening with us, receive chordal signals from the future, and define what the voices of the future will be.
