4th Sing for Love Premiere Concert of Winning Works and Awards Ceremony Concludes

From the call for entries and judging to the premiere, awards ceremony and score publication, the biennial Sing for Love competition and concert grows larger with each edition, and the prize-winning works continue to gain momentum.

Sing for Love is a platform for new choral works open to the public. Since 2018 it has grown steadily in scale and has become an important cradle for a new generation of composers and songwriters.

We were greatly honored to welcome 林淇瀁 (向陽), Chair of the National Culture and Arts Foundation, to present the awards and offer his good wishes to the winners, and we thank Ms. 李澤汝, Past District Governor of Rotary International District 3521, for her generous support. Our greatest thanks go to the heart and soul of the Sing for Love project, Mr. 王光明 and his wife, Ms. 黃旻齡, who are the project’s firmest supporters and make it possible for composers and songwriters to realize their dreams. We also thank the many Rotary friends, senior figures from the music world, family and friends who gathered at Chung Cheng Hall, Zhongshan Hall, Taipei, for the awards ceremony and the premiere of the winning works.

That evening, the 16 winning works were brought to life under conductor Jia Fen Wong by the Taipei Chamber Singers, by Taipei HuaShin Children’s Chorus under conductor 高端禾, and by host 林伯杰 together with the winners of the lyrics awards; the Rotary International District 3521 Choir, conducted by 方素貞, performed winning works from the 3rd edition, keeping these fine songs shining on stage.

Every piece and every line of lyrics is full of the positive energy of dreams pursued step by step, conveying hopes for the future of this land and for care for one another. Congratulations once again to all the winners.
