2026 TIFA “Fourty-four Fourtunes of Formosa” Concludes with All Four Performances Sold Out
After a year and a half of production, Music Unlimited No. 15 entered the NTCH Experimental Theater for the first time, and general seating for all four performances sold out.
From conceiving the idea and gathering material in August 2024, through repeated experiments, composition and tryouts in 2025, to intensive rehearsals and collaboration with the production team in 2026, culminating in four full performances—after a year and a half of production, Music Unlimited No. 15, the 2026 TIFA production “Fourty-four Fourtunes of Formosa” (島嶼上沒有四十四隻石獅子), has come to a close. General seating for all four performances sold out.
On our first time in the Experimental Theater, we fulfilled our prayer for the island. Thank you to the National Theater & Concert Hall for its trust in and support of the Taipei Chamber Singers, and to L’Oréal Taiwan for supporting contemporary artistic creation with its professional sense of aesthetics.
We were honored to work again with composer Kueiju Lin and to break new ground in vocal theater with director Hung Chien-Han, with Resident Conductor Apo Hsu as chorus master. Thank you to set designer 廖音喬, lighting designer 曾睿琁, costume designer 陳玟良, video designer 黃詠心 and movement designer 林祐如 for building the visual world together; the depth of the text owes much to text advisor 鴻鴻, the poetry of 葉覓覓, and textual material from ohtaigi.
Thank you to stage manager 黃詠芝, early-stage movement workshop leader 陳詣芩, music composition assistant 徐鈺婷, technical director 劉柏言, lighting technical director 王芳寧, 飛揚音響 for its professional projection and sound engineering, and the entire technical crew.
Thank you to our singers and understudy singers for their professionalism and dedication, and our heartfelt thanks to every audience member—because you followed the guidelines during the performance and disappeared perfectly into the dark, the soundscape and the play of light could be fully realized. Finally, thank you to the front-of-house and backstage staff and volunteers.
Let sound take shape, grow on the island of the theater, and be sung on the real island.
