2020 Images of Taiwanese Music – Commissions and Premieres Series: Choral Concert “Echoes of Taiwan”

18 Sep. 2020

This programme commissioned senior and mid-career and younger Taiwanese composers — Chiung Yu Chen, Kueiju Lin, 邱妍甯, Chung-Yuan Yu, 錢善華 and Xing-Kui Zeng — to write original works incorporating elements of Taiwan’s traditional or contemporary multicultural heritage, performed in choral form by the leading Taiwanese ensemble Taipei Chamber Singers. The programme also includes a representative work by the eminent Taiwanese composer Hwang Long Pan. Expressing a deep affection for Taiwan through the language of music, it presents the face of contemporary Taiwanese music, in the hope of fostering professional artistic exchange and enriching Taiwan’s musical culture.
