2020 2nd Sing for Love Choral Composition Competition

Write down your hopes for love, sing your blessings for society

Using music as a bridge to convey the spirit of public service and charity, and in response to National Culture and Arts Foundation Chair 林曼麗’s heartfelt wish for a richer body of songwriting in Taiwan, the first Sing for Love Choral and Solo Song Composition Competition was launched in 2018 on the initiative of 王光明, former Governor of Rotary International District 3521. It embeds Rotary’s ideals of service and charity in artistic creation, conveying kindness and care through beautiful songs and fostering friendship and harmony through singing. For the 2nd Sing for Love Choral Composition Competition, 王光明 invited 張順立, former President of the NCAF Friends Association; 馬長生, Governor of Rotary International District 3521; the Rotary Club of Taipei North; and the Rotary Club of Taipei Guandu to support this edition, with Taipei Chamber Singers as presenter. The competition seeks to discover songwriting talent, reward outstanding works, provide a quality platform for their premiere and help them be sung widely, opening a door of opportunity for composers and lyricists.
