2020 Bella Generation

Beautiful voices, gentle yet fragrant

Listen closely to the beautiful lines of sound in the air and you may almost catch a faint, flower-like fragrance. The singers of TCS Women’s Choir 2, like you and me, come from their own families and jobs; yet, unlike you and me, they have chosen to blossom on stage through song. From Taiwan to Southeast Asia, TCS Women’s Choir 2 has won awards large and small since its founding, but these are not the whole of what their singing is worth: the many forms of beauty in the 2020 “Bella Generation” are what the singers truly hope to share with you on stage. The Chinese and foreign songs in this concert fully express TCS Women’s Choir 2’s hopes for beauty: the motherly warmth of “For the Beauty of the Earth”, “Ave Maria” and “Can You Hear Me”; the care for the land in “Forever Homeland” (永遠的故鄉) and “Under the Flowering Tree” (花樹下); and, with the pain of the pandemic still fresh, “When the World Falls Quiet” (世界恬靜落來的時) and “Laisu” (來甦) are the songs with which TCS Women’s Choir 2 comforts us all. TCS Women’s Choir 2 will always be with you, sincerely wishing for peaceful, quiet days.

TCS Women’s Choir 2, founded in 2013, is the third affiliated choir of Taipei Chamber Singers. Made up of women who love music, the choir has kept learning and advancing along the path of fine art since its founding. Led by conductor 鄭有席, it has carried its warm voices to stages large and small in Taiwan and abroad, winning the Gold Award and overall championship at the 6th Singapore International Chinese Choral Festival in 2017 and performing at the National Concert Hall, a brilliant page in the choir’s story. Through continual rehearsal and growing stage experience, TCS Women’s Choir 2 has gradually shaped its own singing character and style. With colourful and diverse choral music combined with movement and staging, its singing shines with confidence, letting audiences feel the vitality and passion of women pursuing an artistic life and sharing the joy of healthy, happy singing!
