Open Your Heart and Ears: Creating the Energy of Love and Listening

“Opening a wide circle of care through song” is the central purpose of Taipei Chamber Singers’ Listening (聽你．聽我) series. In 2015, this journey in search of love traveled all across Taiwan, touring in concert and visiting hospitals and senior care homes, in the hope that pure singing voices could dissolve the indifference and distance of today’s society and help people rediscover the beauty that art brings to life. On 9/28, the Taipei charity concert will pass the love on once again, with special guests the Northern Heavenly Voices Rare Disease Choir and the Guandu Be Happy Men’s Vocal Ensemble joining the choir to share the abundant energy of “love and care”!

From March to May 2015, Taipei Chamber Singers completed a six-concert Listening tour of Taichung, Tainan, Kaohsiung, Hsinchu, Taoyuan, and Taipei. All proceeds from the NT$2,500 “charity sponsor tickets” have been donated to local service centers of the Taiwan Fund for Children and Families, totaling more than NT$400,000 to date, to support children from families in need. Special thanks go to the Rotary Club of Taipei Guandu for its generous support. The choir has been deeply moved by the experience of giving back, and hopes to inspire more people to join in: by listening to our own hearts and discovering ourselves, we can care for others and for all living things, and let the rich energy of “listening, dialogue, and communication” blossom into beautiful flowers in our lives along with song!
