Renaissance · Rebirth

Renaissance Music × Fine Art

See an exhibition in the concert hall, hear music in the museum

A new visual experience, a new sonic thrill!

In turbulent times, we need to return once again to our clearest inner selves

and seek a new humanism for the 21st century. — 王焜生

Spanning 400 years, the humanist spirit of the Renaissance is reborn in a whole new form. In “Renaissance · Rebirth”, Taipei Chamber Singers invites international curator 王焜生 to take an artist’s perspective, linking Renaissance art and music across five galleries and leading audiences into a Renaissance museum filled with sound.

Taking a broad view, Taipei Chamber Singers explores the relationship between early music and many aspects of contemporary life. Following “Savoring · Renaissance”, which paired music with coffee, “Wandering · Renaissance”, which stepped into church architecture, and “Feasting · Renaissance”, which celebrated food culture, the choir once again crosses disciplines, merging with the visual arts in “Renaissance · Rebirth” to seek a new humanism for our own troubled times.
