林伯杰
Although he never spent a single day in a music department, 林伯杰 has, through passion and hard work, lived immersed in music for many years—constantly seeking to understand music and present it, and promoting it through arts talks of every kind. He has been marketing manager at Rock Records and is currently Music Director of Jingo Records (金革唱片) and Editorial Director of Lele Culture (樂樂文化), with work ranging from album copy and music planning to concert production. He has also served many times on the jury for the traditional and art music categories of the Golden Melody Awards, as an adjunct lecturer in the Department of Applied Music at Aletheia University, and as host of CTV programs such as “Family Concert Hall” (家庭音樂廳) and “New Voices of Formosa” (寶島新聲).
He continues to host concerts and give pre-concert talks, working with partners including the Ministry of Education, National Theater & Concert Hall (NTCH), National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying), National Taichung Theater, the National Symphony Orchestra, the Taipei Symphony Orchestra, the Taipei Philharmonic Chorus, Taipei Chamber Singers and the Taipei Youth Wind Orchestra. With relaxed humor and clear, accessible explanations, he guides audiences into the wonders of music. His books include “Become an Opera Buff Overnight” (一夜變成歌劇通) and “The Art of Music Self-HI” (音樂自HI術), and he has created the online course “Setting Out from Music on an Artistic Voyage” (從音樂出發,航向藝術航程).
