Jhong Heng Yang Yang, Jhong Heng

A native of Pingtung County, Jhong Heng Yang has been deputy editor-in-chief of Audio Art magazine (音響論壇), an arts and culture reporter for the China Times, and editor-in-chief of Musical Time magazine (音樂時代), and is currently Artistic Director of Musical Time Theater (音樂時代劇場) and CEO of the Quanta Arts Foundation of the Quanta Group. Yang has long written columns and music criticism for newspapers and magazines, and has served on the juries of the Government Information Office’s Golden Melody Awards, the Council for Cultural Affairs’ performing arts group development program and the Taishin Arts Award. Yang won Best Producer at the 10th Golden Melody Awards and was nominated for Best Lyricist at the 21st Golden Melody Awards. Musicals include “The Butterfly Lovers” (梁祝), “Soong Mei-ling: Looking Back on a Century” (世紀回眸─宋美齡), “April Rain” (四月望雨), “The In-Laws Next Door” (隔壁親家), “Spring Breeze of Weishui” (渭水春風), “A Beautiful Mistake” (美麗的錯誤) and “Carmen of the East District” (東區卡門).
