Fusion and Metamorphosis: 2018 ACL Asia-Pacific Music Festival
12 Oct. 2018

The 35th Asian Composers League Conference and Asia-Pacific Music Festival
Taipei Chamber Singers is once again invited as the designated ensemble for the Choral/Vocal Art concert
The Asian Composers League (ACL) is the oldest and most important international cultural organization in the Asia-Pacific region. Since 1975, its member countries have taken turns hosting a conference and music festival to promote musical composition across the Asia-Pacific and carry forward Asia’s musical heritage.
Following its appearance in 2011, Taipei Chamber Singers, recognized for its superb vocal artistry, has again been invited to serve as the designated ensemble at the Choral/Vocal Art concert on 21 October. From works submitted across Asia, 11 choral and vocal works were selected by composers from eight countries—Australia, Hong Kong, Israel, Korea, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore and Taiwan—including Professor 呂文慈’s “Om Ah Hum: Song of the Half Mountain” (嗡啊吽之半山謠), based on Hakka mountain songs from Meinong. Three of the works will receive their world premieres at this concert, and six their Taiwan premieres.
