TCS 2024 — Beyond Borders, Across Time, Face to Face with the Masters
Taipei Chamber Singers opens 2024 with concerts devoted to great Taiwanese composers: in April, a collaboration with composer David L. Wen featuring choral works from across the different periods and genres of the composer’s career; in June, choral reimaginings of classic songs by 李泰祥, a towering figure in Taiwanese music.
The second half of the year brings two major series, Authentic Music in Action and Music Unlimited. Taipei Chamber Singers will welcome European early-music master Pierre Hantaï, Le Concert Français, and four leading European vocal soloists for a September tour of motets by J. S. Bach. At year’s end, TCS joins forces with mid-career and younger composers based abroad, Chung-Yuan Yu, Li-Ying Wu, and Shiuan Chang, to sing the future sound of Taiwan from their vantage point overseas.
