The 3rd Sing for Love Choral Composition Competition: Premiere of Winning Works and End Polio Benefit Concert
07 Feb. 2023
Write Down Your Hopes for Love, Sing Your Blessings for Society
The premiere concert of the winning works from the 3rd Sing for Love Choral Composition Competition will be presented by Taipei Chamber Singers and Taipei HuaShin Children’s Chorus, joined by the Rotary International District 3521 Choir, in support of the End Polio campaign to eradicate polio. Every singer on stage will express care for the community through heartwarming songs.
The Sing for Love Choral Composition Competition is a collaboration between Rotary International District 3521 and Taipei Chamber Singers. Since its founding in 2018, it has built a complete platform for new Chinese-language choral works through premieres, publication, and outreach. This edition took “Imagination Brings Strength” and “Taiwan’s People and Landscapes” as its themes, inviting works that convey the beauty of Taiwan and the pursuit of vision and ideals. A new Songwriting category, open to entries consisting of lyrics and a single melody line, was also introduced to encourage music lovers to try composing, uncover more emerging songwriting talent, and enrich Taiwan’s choral repertoire.
