Heng Wang is a choreographer, director, teacher and performer who has long focused on physical fieldwork projects and physical documentary theatre. His artistic practice spans dance, theatre and music, and he has collaborated with many companies, including The Double Theatre, Thief of Fire Theatre, Rhapsody Theatre and Dark Creative, building extensive cross-disciplinary experience.
In 2022 he served as staging and movement director for “MUSIC UNLIMITED 12” (合唱無設限第十二號作品:和諧的多重定義), demonstrating a distinctive aesthetic interweaving choral music and physical language. In 2025 he was director and playwright for Taipei HuaShin Children’s Chorus’s music theatre production “The Warmest Place” (最溫暖的地方), and as music theatre director for “Little Flowers in Wartime” (戰爭中的小花) and “A Miracle, Stroke by Stroke” (一筆一劃的奇蹟), he blended choral singing, drama and movement to create stage works that are both educational and artistic.
Beyond the choral field, he is also active in baby theatre and Deaf dance projects. His works “Baby Sound Waves” (寶寶音浪) and “We Dance in Silence” (我們在安靜中跳舞) explore, respectively, early sensory experience and physical expression shared by hearing and Deaf people, and have been invited to numerous arts festivals.
