Song of the Land

“Home is a distant longing, a memory like the clouds, a thread of affection that cannot be cut. And homesickness—homesickness is a rhythm in the silence, a meditation amid the clamor, the love deep within my heart.” — Wei Bin Chen

Nostalgia for home is the driving force behind Wei Bin Chen’s creative work: music written for homesickness, lyrics written in the mother tongue. The lyrics of Song of the Land are written entirely in Taiwanese; its songs hold the turning of sun and moon, the passing of the seasons, and the memories of this land.

The album was nominated for Best Vocal Performance at the 30th Golden Melody Awards for Traditional Arts and Music.
