Sound in Silence: Classics of Sacred Choral Music

Across time, singing of life’s eternal refuge

Sound in Silence: Classics of Sacred Choral Music

A perfect union of the sacred and the artistic ✕ A grand collection of sacred vocal classics from the Middle Ages to today

The ultimate dialogue between angels and humanity ✕ Featuring Italian composer Allegri’s sacred masterpiece “Miserere”

Taipei Chamber Singers’ “Sound in Silence: Classics of Sacred Choral Music” features a cappella sacred choral works, from the serene, otherworldly organum of the Middle Ages to the supreme polyphony of the Renaissance and the minimalist sacred music of our time. This journey from simplicity to complexity and back to minimalism not only carries forward the classics of choral art, but also, through the purest of human voices, immerses you in moments of utter stillness where heart and senses become one.

“An unknown choir from the East taught us what the Renaissance is!” From its earliest days, Taipei Chamber Singers drew praise from the European press for its masterful interpretation of early music. In recent years, it has launched the Music Unlimited project to explore new thinking in contemporary vocal music, and has been invited to major international music festivals as the designated ensemble for premiering contemporary works. Spanning more than ten centuries of choral history, “Sound in Silence” presents Taipei Chamber Singers’ exquisite interpretation and taste, linking past and present, and is well worth anticipating.
